Our box newels utilize four solid hardwood sides to create a hollow post with additional optional embellishments such as mouldings, panels and appliques. Our box newel posts have been specifically designed in a variety of sizes and shapes so that you can select the best option to create a bold statement without overwhelming your balustrade or space. Our newels are hand crafted using old world techniques and are sure to withstand the test of time. Additionally we create each post with the highest quality solid lumber (not veneers) that is grain-matched with mitered corners (as opposed to butt-jointed). This insures that they will be of uniform color and that there are no grain variations from the face of one side to the end of another. Because they are made from solid lumber, not the typical plywood or veneers, our box newel posts are inherently stronger and provide excellent support for the attached handrails and balustrades.
