Our 6203 Contemporary Handrail has a large side view and finger grooves that makes an impressive statement. It is ideal for residential customers who want to make a bold statement as well as commercial applications with the same intent. It measures 1 5/8″ at its widest and 5 1/2″ at its tallest. Please verify with your local codes to ensure this profile is in compliance. Installation option: Order a 4-foot length of 6039 round handrail, cut into desired lengths, and use as a spacer between the wall and handrail. Secure by drilling a lag screw through the face of the handrail and spacer into studs. Cover the screws by using 1/2″ wood plugs. Call us if you have questions.

Due to the difference in the ways a tree grows, the availability of different wood species may also vary in character, lengths, widths, and color. On occasion, some linear stair parts, such as handrail, may require staggered joints in order to provide longer length stair parts. For example, the lumber from an Alder tree is rarely longer than 10′, so to obtain a 14′ handrail this would require some form of joint (rarely noticeable once finished).
